PerDiem Games ("we", "us") makes small daily puzzle games, available at perdiem.games. This page explains what we collect, how we use it, and the ground rules for using the site. We've tried to keep it short and plain.
Part 1: Privacy
Playing without an account
You can play every game without signing in. Your progress, streaks and settings are kept on your own device, in your browser's local storage. We don't receive them, and clearing your browser data erases them.
What we collect if you create an account
- Email address. Used to sign you in with an emailed one-time code, and to send those codes. We don't send marketing email.
- Username. Optional. If you choose one, it can appear next to your scores on leaderboards. You can turn that off in your account settings.
- Game data. Your saves, streaks, scores and the days you played, so your progress follows you between devices and leaderboards work.
- Preferences. Settings such as showing streaks or timers.
- Technical data. When you request a sign-in code we temporarily keep your IP address to limit abuse, and a session cookie keeps you signed in for up to 30 days. The cookie is used only for sign-in. The sign-in cookie is not used for advertising.
- Analytics data. When you visit the website, Google Analytics collects usage information, whether or not you have an account. See "Analytics" below.
Analytics
The PerDiem Games website uses Google Analytics, a service from Google, to understand how people find and use the site, such as which pages and games are visited and how many people come back. Google Analytics sets cookies in your browser and collects information like your IP address, approximate location, device and browser type, and the pages you view. Google processes this data for us under its own terms and privacy policy, which you can read at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites. We use it only for measuring and improving the site, not to build advertising profiles.
To opt out, you can block cookies or scripts in your browser, use a content blocker, or install Google's Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. The PerDiem Games mobile apps do not use Google Analytics.
How we use it
To run your account, sync your progress, show leaderboards, keep the service secure and prevent abuse, and fix problems. We don't sell your personal information, and we don't share it for advertising. Analytics data is used only to understand and improve the site.
Who processes it for us
We use service providers to run the site: Cloudflare hosts the site and stores account data, Resend delivers sign-in emails, and Google provides website analytics. They handle data only to provide those services to us. We may also disclose information if the law requires it.
Retention and your choices
We keep account data until you delete your account. You can delete it yourself from the account panel in the app, which removes your email, username, saves and scores. Sign-in codes expire after 10 minutes.
Children
PerDiem Games is not directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly create accounts for them. If a child's account comes to our attention, we'll delete it.
Part 2: Terms of use
Using the site
By using PerDiem Games you agree to these terms. Please use the site for its intended purpose: playing the games. Don't try to break, overload or reverse-engineer the service, attack other players' accounts, or cheat the leaderboards with scripts or automation. Pick a username that isn't offensive or impersonating anyone. We may remove usernames, scores or accounts that break these rules.
Your account
You're responsible for activity on your account and for keeping access to your email secure. Use a real email address that belongs to you.
Our content
The games, puzzles, designs, code and logos are owned by PerDiem Games and protected by copyright. You may play and share links to the site, and share your own results, but you may not copy, resell or republish the games or puzzle content without permission.
No warranty and limits of liability
The site is provided "as is" and "as available". The games are free and offered for fun, and we can't promise they'll always be available, error-free, or that saved progress will never be lost. To the fullest extent the law allows, PerDiem Games is not liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from your use of the site.
Changes
We may update this page, and the date at the top will change when we do. If a change is significant, we'll tell signed-in players. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept it. We may also change, suspend or end the service or any game at any time.
