A free daily code-breaking game

Enigma is a free daily code-breaking game: crack a hidden code of four colors in eight tries, with pins telling you how close you are.

Enigma is a free daily code-breaking game. A hidden code of four colors is chosen each day, and you have eight tries to crack it. After each guess, little pins tell you how close you were.

How does Enigma work?

Fill a row with four colors from a palette of six, then try the code. Colors can repeat. The pins next to your guess tell you how many colors are in the right spot and how many are right but in the wrong spot. They don't tell you which ones. Use that to narrow it down, and crack the code before your eight tries run out.

Is Enigma like Mastermind?

Yes. It's the same idea as the Mastermind board game: a secret code, a set number of guesses and pins as feedback. The difference is that Enigma has one code a day, the same for everyone, so you can compare how many tries you took. Enigma isn't affiliated with the makers of Mastermind.

Is Enigma like Wordle?

In spirit. Both are about guessing, reading the feedback and narrowing it down. Enigma uses colors instead of letters, so there's no vocabulary involved, just logic.
